A Decade of Supervisory Leadership
Established by the UN with the support of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) in 2016, the UNDP’s Sustainable Insurance Forum (SIF) is a global network of 41 insurance supervisors and regulators.
Convened by the United Nations Development Programme, SIF gives its members a place to exchange knowledge, share early experience, and develop practical approaches to climate, nature and broader sustainability risk. Over a decade, it has grown from a discussion forum into a source of applied supervisory and regulatory guidance.
What We Do
SIF’s programme combines policy dialogue, capacity building and applied supervisory and regulatory work, empowering its members to move from awareness to practice on climate, nature and catastrophe risk.

SIF Members
SIF connects insurance supervisors across more than 30 jurisdictions and six continents, ensuring that supervisory approaches to sustainability risk are tested across a wide range of market structures, regulatory traditions and climate exposures.
